Luisa Palloni, LICSW

Welcome! I am a DC-based social worker who specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Behavioral Sleep Medicine. During therapy sessions, I develop personalized CBT-I treatment plans for my clients while providing therapeutic support. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, as well as developing concrete action steps to reach client goals. As someone who has also personally experienced insomnia and participated in CBT-I treatment, I approach treatment through the lens of both the client and the therapist.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine (SBSM).

You can verify my licensure with the DC social work board through the DC HEALTH website here.

More about me

I’ve been a social worker in DC since 2011, after graduating with my MSW from the University of Michigan. (Go Blue!) The first 7 years of my career were focused on early childhood mental health in schools, where I worked with parents, teachers, and school administrators to develop interventions and support for student social, emotional and behavioral health. For the past 3 years, I’ve worked as a coordinator and assistant program manager at a local non-profit that addresses population-wide stress and trauma by providing training and support in evidence-based small group techniques.

As a former insomniac with a strong interest and experience in science-backed behavioral interventions and a love of working with people, diving into the world of sleep medicine has been a natural transition.

I am also a parent of two energetic kids, a runner, dancer, baker, and sleep enthusiast!
